We are looking for a highly motivated student to join our Procurement Department for a semester‑long paid internship. The role provides hands‑on experience in purchasing, sourcing, product development, and supplier management at one of the world’s largest medical technology companies.
OverviewUnder the direction of senior staff, you will support cross‑functional teams by managing purchase orders, participating in cost‑improvement projects, and engaging in strategic analysis. The internship offers exposure to our sourcing processes, ERP systems, and weekly project meetings.
Summary/Purpose of Position- Assist in sourcing, quoting, tracking, and monitoring purchase orders for new product lines.
- Support the development and implementation of streamlined departmental processes.
- Help assess opportunities for reducing material and service costs across the division.
- Participate in weekly project meetings, quarterly all‑employee meetings, and 1:1 sessions with division leadership.
- Place and expedite purchase orders for on‑time delivery with suppliers.
- Map processes and recommend efficiencies in operations and purchasing.
- Assist in cost‑improvement projects.
- Conduct Make vs. Buy and other strategic analyses; present recommendations to management.
- Support key audits throughout the semester.
- Interact with ERP/MRP systems (JDE).
- Business major (Supply Chain Management preferred) or equivalent undergraduate coursework.
- Excellent personal communication skills.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with data‑based recommendation capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web‑based systems is a plus.
- Exceptional drive to pursue a career in the medical device field.
- Regular business hours 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
- In‑office Tuesday–Thursday.
