Summary

MGT is hiring a full‑time, onsite HR Specialist Consultant to support one of our valued clients in the Providence, RI area. This 6 to 12 month contract offers the opportunity to apply your HR expertise in a dynamic environment and make an immediate impact.

The Human Resources Specialist provides flexible, project-based support to deliver responsive and effective HR services. This role is responsible for assisting with general HR operations including scheduling, onboarding support, and document management. The consultant partners with HR leadership and business units to ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices while providing hands‑on support for day‑to‑day HR activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain employee personnel files, digital and paper systems, and ensure documents are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Perform data entry and maintain HR databases, HRIS records, and employee tracking spreadsheets.
  • Prepare HR documents including payroll forms, letters, forms, reports, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Manage and track leaves of absences and related documents.
  • Assist in scheduling for department functions.
  • Respond to routine HR email inquiries, phone calls, and document requests.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, interviews, trainings, and HR team activities.
  • Manage HR office supplies and support department logistics.
  • Prepare new hire welcome packets and ensure all onboarding forms are completed.
  • Assist with new hire orientation setup and employee onboarding checklists.
  • Collect, organize, and file new hire documents, training certifications, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Participate in special projects and other HR team tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning HR systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • On‑site support in a climate‑controlled office setting.
  • Some local travel may be required for meetings or events.
