Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Vice‑President, Clinical and Financial IT Services, the PACS Administrator oversees the day‑to‑day functionality of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), coordinates the development of PACS and digital imaging initiatives, and manages storage capacity. This role also provides technical support to users of RIMI’s digital infrastructures, including networking, telecommunications, and the software systems that support the organization’s mission.
The Administrator participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer‑based information systems and necessary modifications to computer software, and provides input regarding vendor‑proposed hardware and software additions and changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely transmission of images and data to appropriate destinations; participate in modifying, developing, and improving the hardware and software for the RIS, PACS, and supporting systems; and manage maintenance of department computer hardware.
- Correct production problems by analyzing programs or systems to determine root causes; implement solutions that prevent recurrence.
- Participate in selection, implementation, and maintenance of information systems best suited to RIMI’s needs.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software; perform timely installation of new software releases and corrective codes on servers supplied by vendors; install client software for users.
- Assist staff and outside users with difficult problems related to applications; respond to and resolve end‑user technical problems regarding equipment and software performance and capabilities.
- Provide input into the evaluation of new technical proposals to determine appropriateness and compatibility for RIMI’s operations.
- Write or alter program code after determining appropriate language and environment.
- Analyze and document software problems and generate documentation for submission to vendors; contact external resources for input and apply corrective action.
- Provide individual and group instruction on the use of equipment, software, and network features.
- Monitor PACS and VNA system usage and storage.
- Partner with clinical staff and vendors to support image exchange processes.
- Troubleshoot, test, and assist with issues related to diagnostic monitors.
- Assist with on‑call support after hours as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of hardware and software systems and components; ability to manipulate computer hardware, software, and systems.
- Skills necessary to promptly detect, analyze, and resolve computer software problems with limited time or data.
- Ability to assist less experienced staff with technical issues and respond to telephone support calmly.
- Skills to express ideas and prepare and present oral and written reports.
- Ability to provide useful advice and facilitate discussion with other departments regarding future needs or changes.
- Ability to absorb and learn new technologies quickly and anticipate future applicability.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Experience with Intele Rad, Intele Orchestrator, or Clario systems preferred.
- Picture Archiving and Communication Systems experience preferred; knowledge of Radiology Department workflow is a plus.

- PACS Bridge Configuration and Management
- VNA configuration and management, including familiarity with IOCM
- Software Configurations / Installations / Upgrades
- Modality Connectivity
- System/Server Backup Management
- Teleradiology Configuration and Support
- Modality Configurations / Installations / Troubleshooting / Maintenance
- SSL VPN and remote access configuration and support
- Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare discipline or information systems preferred.
- Combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered.
