Job Details

We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our growing practice focused on creditors' rights, collections, enforcement actions, foreclosure-related matters, and other default servicing litigation. This role offers the opportunity to manage an active caseload from inception through resolution while working closely with clients and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable handling a high volume of matters, enjoys taking ownership of their cases, and has experience navigating court proceedings, motion practice, negotiations, and dispute resolution. Attorneys with a strong creditors' rights background who are interested in broadening their practice into related areas will find significant opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a litigation caseload involving creditors' rights, collections, enforcement, and related civil matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents
  • Handle court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Develop case strategies and evaluate litigation risks and exposure
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, developments, and recommendations
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical legal guidance
  • Oversee case progression from intake through resolution
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management
  • Assist with foreclosure and default-related litigation matters as needed
  • Maintain compliance with court rules, deadlines, and client requirements
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Experience handling creditors' rights, collections, commercial recovery, enforcement, or related civil litigation matters
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Experience managing a high-volume caseload with substantial independence
  • Motion practice, discovery, and courtroom experience
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills
  • Interest in expanding practice experience into foreclosure and related litigation areas preferred
  • Prior supervisory, mentoring, or team leadership experience is a plus
Requirements
  • Active admission to the Rhode Island Bar required
  • Additional bar admissions are highly preferred
  • Ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case management technologies
  • Commitment to professionalism, responsiveness, and client service
