Our Area Sales Managers help dealer partners sell more cars and trucks by financing more customers. The role requires vision, dedication, and a consultative sales and management approach.
Job DescriptionOur Area Sales Manager is the face of the company to our number one customer – our dealers. The focus of this role is to increase the number of funded deals by partnering with dealers who will be a good fit.
The role enables growth by identifying, onboarding, and managing dealer growth within your local region. This full‑time position reports to Regional Sales Managers and is open to candidates based in the US comfortable working remotely and on the road.
What you’ll do- Present and communicate company products and services to all levels of management within independent and franchise dealerships live in person.
- Identify sales prospects and contact assigned accounts.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals from telephone calls for independent and franchise dealers.
- Develop, maintain, and grow current and potential dealer partners within the independent and franchise dealer communities.
- Maintain constant and effective communication, via phone or in person, with dealer partners regarding current programs.
- Train dealers on Western Funding processes, including proper documentation needed for fast funding of contracts.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- College degree or equivalent work experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of automotive, finance, and sales.
- Previous experience in the financial services sector or within a car dealership.
- 1–2 years of previous experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success.
- Clear and effective presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of warm call, appointment setting, and sales techniques.
- Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technology.
- Results orientation and ability to get things done in alignment with company objectives.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time visiting auto dealers.
- First‑Year Salary Range: $54,000 – $125,000 per year (base salary + performance commissions).
- Average rep earning after 1 year: $79,000.
- Average earning of top 10 reps: $125,000.
- Commission potential:
No cap (unlimited earning potential). - Monthly mileage reimbursement:
Average of $450/month. - Exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hire and may vary by location, skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure where applicable.
