Job Summary

We are hiring an Outside Sales Representative - Pumps to support our Flygt brand in Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The role involves identifying potential customers, conducting sales presentations, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate has strong sales skills, a thorough understanding of the wastewater industry, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities Prospecting and Generating Leads
  • Identifying potential clients and target markets
  • Conducting market research to understand customer needs and preferences
  • Using various methods to generate leads such as cold calling, networking, and referrals
  • Maintaining a pipeline of potential clients
Building and Maintaining Relationships
  • Establishing rapport and trust with clients
  • Understanding and addressing clients' needs and concerns
  • Regularly following up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify potential opportunities
Conducting Sales Presentations and Negotiations
  • Preparing and delivering effective sales presentations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent work experience including 2+ years’ sales or sales-related experience (pump or process industry preferred).
  • General knowledge of mechanical and pumping designs; hydraulic, pneumatics, water flow, electric motors in related field of pumps, pumping systems, or construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g., Sales Force, CRM systems).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.
  • Local travel requirement 50% - 60% (No overnight travel).
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 base plus quarterly bonus. Xylem offers a competitive compensation package with a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
