We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and friendly business seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone hands-on, organised, and confident managing day-to-day accounting processes.

The Role

You will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end processes. The role offers variety and the chance to take ownership of core accounting duties, with additional responsibilities depending on workload capacity.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing purchase ledger and sales ledger activities

* Performing bank reconciliations

* Preparing and submitting VAT returns

* Supporting month-end accounting processes

* Assisting with credit control

* Sourcing cost-effective utility suppliers

* Stationery ordering and office supply management

Experience Required

* Minimum 2+ years’ hands-on experience with Sage 50

* Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger functions

* Experience with bank reconciliations and VAT submissions

* Exposure to month-end processes

* Good organisational skills and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and manage priorities
