Apprentice Policy Support Officer

ResponsibilitiesWorking collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and elected Members, the postholder will support the development and delivery of policy across the Highways Service, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and corporate priorities.
You will help translate policy into clear, practical guidance and contribute to briefings, reports and communications that support informed decision making and consistent service delivery.
Key RequirementsNo prior experience is required – we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning new skills, committed to delivering excellent service, and eager to be part of a collaborative team.
You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to organise your workload, manage priorities effectively, and use standard IT applications such as Microsoft Office and email.
Apprenticeship InformationThis position is aligned with the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, delivered by Heart of England Training.
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, the postholder will progress to a permanent Business Support Officer role.
Future OpportunitiesProgression to a permanent Business Support Officer role after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
