Quantity Surveyor

Location: Warwickshire

Our client, a prominent player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Southam. This contract role requires an experienced professional who will report directly to the Commercial Manager, ensuring successful project delivery through effective tender pricing, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertaking tender pricing and conducting thorough risk assessments
Drafting and negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms
Managing Cost and Value reconciliations, Bottom Up and End Life Cost Reporting, and Cash Management
Building strong working relationships with clients and internal/external colleagues
Administering contracts, including data reporting and record keeping
Overseeing subcontract account management and payment processes
Handling dispute management effectively
Contributing to project performance discussions with valuable commercial input

Job Requirements:

Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor position
Working knowledge of NEC contracts, including options A, B, and C

Experience with in a civils contractor environment is essential
Proficiency in cost and time management
Enthusiastic approach with clear communication skills for liaising with diverse teams
Experience in subcontractor management

Desirable:

Experience working on concrete structures such as viaducts and bridges

Experience with large subcontracts such as piling
Experience in subcontractor procurement
