Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, emerging conductor with previous conducting experience who is looking for more opportunities for podium time in front of student and community ensembles at the University of Warwick () based at the Warwick Arts Centre ().
Job DescriptionRequired to be available to attend rehearsals at the Warwick Arts Centre on Tuesday evenings and Thursday afternoons/evenings during the term.
- 30 weeks of engagement (27 weeks of rehearsals and 3 weeks of performances) – approximately one day per week.
- Remuneration: £6,000 (includes travel expenses, planning and preparation time).
Support and mentorship will be provided by University of Warwick Music Centre conductors Suzzie Vango and Tom Newall, and you will have the opportunity to conduct a diverse array of ensembles including Chamber Choir, Symphony Chorus, and Pop Choir. There may also be opportunities to work with the student Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.
Job RequirementsJob Title: Choral Conducting Scholarship 2026-27
- Previous conducting experience with choirs.
- Confidence in leading choir rehearsals and working with singers.
- Experience running choirs and/or orchestras.
- Availability to attend rehearsals on the specified days during term time.
