Role OverviewYou will support pupils in a supportive and nurturing provision, working closely with a team to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment for pupils with complex special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils’ learning, progress and development with complex special educational needs.
- Plan and deliver learning activities aligned with curriculum areas that support pupils.
- Use communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, AAC devices and other resources to develop pupils' understanding and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff and external professionals to monitor and review pupil progress.
- A passion for supporting pupils to learn to the best of their ability.
- Recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.
- At least GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade A–C.
- Strong understanding of complex special educational needs and Autism.
- Detailed understanding of curriculum areas that support pupils with complex special educational needs.
- Considerable experience of supporting the learning, progress and development of pupils with complex special educational needs.
- Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting.
- Experience of using a range of communication strategies.
- Salary: £31,022 – £33,699 full‑time equivalent (equating to £23,542 – £25,574 per annum for 32.5 hours per week).

- Working days:
Monday to Wednesday and Friday 08:50–15:40, Thursday 08:50–16:40.
