Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND )

Exhall Grange is a 4‑19 maintained school which provides a nurturing environment and meets the needs of children and young people with:

  • Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Physical difficulties
  • Sensory impairment
  • Complex medical needs

Qualifications
  • A passion for supporting pupils to learn to the best of their ability.
  • A recognised and relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.
  • At least GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade A‑C.
  • A strong understanding of complex special educational needs and Autism.
  • A detailed understanding of curriculum areas that support pupils with complex special educational needs.
  • Considerable experience of supporting the learning, progress and development of pupils with complex special educational needs.
  • Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting.
  • Experience of planning and delivering learning activities.
  • Experience of using communication strategies e.g. PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, Widgit, objects of reference, AAC devices etc. to develop pupils understanding and communication skills.
Responsibilities

The salary range for this position is £31,022 - £33,699 full time equivalent which equates to £23,542 - £25,574 per annum actual salary for 32.5 hours per week working term time plus 5 training days. The working day is Monday to Wednesday and Friday 08.50 – 15.40 pm and Thursday 08.50 – 16.40 pm.
