Role Summary
The Senior Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing integrated project schedules for substation delivery projects. The role ensures that planning, sequencing, and progress tracking support safe, efficient, and timely execution across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
* Develop detailed project schedules.
* Produce baseline programmes and maintain updates reflecting progress, risks, and changes.
* Define critical paths, float analysis, and resource loading.
* Integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules into master programmes.
Project Controls
* Monitor progress against plan and produce regular reports, dashboards, and earned value metrics.
* Identify delays, risks, and mitigation strategies.
* Support change management, including impact assessments and time extension analysis.
* Provide schedule input to cost and risk reviews.
Stakeholder Coordination
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to validate sequencing and constraints.
* Lead planning workshops and progress meetings.
* Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables and construction activities.
Risk & Compliance
* Ensure planning reflects regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
* Maintain auditable programme records.
* Support contractual claims with programme evidence and delay analysis.
Experience
Essential
Significant planning experience in power transmission, substations, or large infrastructure projects.
Proven track record delivering complex programmes on time.
Advanced competence in project management tools and software like Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6.
Desirable
Professional certification (e.g., APM, PMI, or equivalent).
Experience working on EPC or turnkey projects.
Knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms.
