About the Role
An established UK provider of security is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their growing technical team. This role offers nationwide coverage with regular travel and occasional overnight stays. You will be supporting a wide range of customers across sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, enforcement, and critical infrastructure.
This position is ideal for engineers with strong electro‑mechanical or electronic service experience who enjoy autonomy, problem‑solving, and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, and configure specialist detection and scanning systems at customer sites.
- Carry out routine maintenance, calibration, and fault‑finding on a range of technical equipment.
- Conduct repairs quickly and effectively to minimise downtime for customers.
- Provide on‑site and remote technical support, maintaining strong customer service standards.
- Produce accurate service reports and maintain documentation in line with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and industry standards.
- Manage spare parts, tools, and service stock effectively.
- Attend the West Midlands base for training, briefings, and equipment updates.
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical engineering role.
- Strong diagnostic ability across electrical, electronic, or electro‑mechanical systems.
- Comfortable reading technical diagrams and manuals.
- Good IT literacy including basic networking and software setup.
- Excellent communication skills and customer‑facing confidence.
- Experience working with security, scanning, detection, access control, manufacturing, or similar technology (highly desirable).
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Flexible with travel and willing to stay away when required.
- Professional, reliable, and customer‑focused.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
