Quality Engineer
Rugby
£35,000 - £45,000 DOE
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established engineering workshop operation based in Rugby.
This is a hands-on engineering quality position supporting workshop operations, inspection activities, supplier quality and project manufacturing processes across complex engineering products.
The role will suit someone from an engineering, aerospace, precision engineering, rotating equipment, fabrication or manufacturing environment with strong experience around inspection, FAIR documentation and practical workshop quality activities.
Key responsibilities
 
* Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with AS9102
 
* Carry out dimensional inspection and measurement activities
 
* Support APQP, NPI and FMEA processes
 
* Investigate non-conformances and support root cause analysis activities using 8D, A3, 5 Why and Ishikawa methodologies
 
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout manufacturing
 
* Review and support supplier quality activities and audits
 
* Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
 
* Support internal, external and customer audits
 
* Monitor quality metrics and identify improvement opportunities
 
* Support calibration control activities for workshop inspection equipment and gauges
What we are looking for
 
* Previous experience working within an engineering or manufacturing quality role
 
* Experience producing FAIR documentation to AS9102 standards
 
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
 
* Experience using mechanical measuring and inspection equipment
 
* Experience with in workshop, machining, fabrication, aerospace or precision engineering environments
 
* Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques including 8D, A3, Ishikawa and 5 Why
 
* Hands-on, practical approach with strong communication skills
Desirable
 
* Supplier quality experience
 
* Gauge R&R / MSA experience
 
* Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing exposure
 
* CMM inspection/programming experience
 
* Rotating equipment experience
