As a Senior Land Officer
, you’ll play a key role in enabling the delivery of our infrastructure projects – providing expert land rights advice and supporting the successful management of our existing assets.

You’ll help secure the rights we need to build and maintain the grid – negotiating with landowners, managing compensation agreements, and navigating complex land challenges.

This role offers hybrid working
, with our head office in Warwick and access to hubs in Leeds, Birmingham and London
. You’ll also be flexible to weekly travel across England and Wales as projects require.

• Secure land rights and legal agreements to enable maintenance and capital projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget
• Negotiate land access agreements with landowners, occupiers, agents and third parties, acting as the key point of contact for project teams
• Provide a single, consistent point of contact for landowners/occupiers throughout the lifecycle of works
• Manage contractors and third‑party suppliers, ensuring delivery through to successful completion
• Oversee contractor delivery on large‑scale overhead line and underground cable refurbishment schemes, including access negotiation
• Coordinate with statutory bodies to secure necessary consents and approvals for works
• Deliver regular reporting, including cost forecasting, risks and progress updates to project teams
• Support consents and ecological processes, ensuring applications, licences and assent are secured in line with programme
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues, supporting capability development within the team

We’re looking for someone who can operate at pace and lead with confidence on complex, high‑profile infrastructure projects. You will bring:

• Proven experience delivering complex capital projects, ideally within infrastructure or utilities
• Strong ability to negotiate and influence a broad range of stakeholders – from landowners and local communities to developers, contractors and commercial partners
• In‑depth understanding of land use planning, rights over land, and compensation principles
• Experience securing land rights to support the development and maintenance of major infrastructure (electricity transmission or similar)
• Ability to analyse data and insights to inform decision‑making and drive project outcomes
• Experience managing external contractors, ensuring delivery to quality, time and budget standards
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) and ideally AssocRICS / MRICS (or working towards)

• A competitive salary between £48,000 - £55,000 – dependent on capability.
• Market supplement of £3,000 per annum.
