We’re looking for a Land Officer to unlock the access that keeps this transformation moving – supporting critical infrastructure that powers millions of homes and businesses.
Working in our Access to Land team
, you’ll secure land rights, build trusted relationships, and enable essential works across our network.
This role offers hybrid working
, with our head office in Warwick and access to hubs in Leeds, Birmingham and London
. You’ll also be flexible to weekly travel across England and Wales as projects require.
- Develop access strategies from design stage through to delivery, enabling capital and maintenance works, including overhead line refurbishment projects
- Negotiate land rights and compensation, agreeing reinstatement and securing additional rights where needed, ensuring value for money and consistency
- Lead stakeholder engagement, managing key internal, external and community interfaces
- Oversee Framework Contractors, ensuring effective delivery and performance
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, issues and complaints across the team
- Support Grantor Relations activities, maintaining accurate land and electricity grantor records
- Track and report on programme delivery, including milestones, risks, contracts and financials
- Share best practice and lessons learned to drive consistency and continuous improvement across the land team
- Experience in land agency or agricultural liaison, ideally within a utility or land agency practice
- Strong knowledge of valuation principles and land compensation law
- Proven experience across project, programme, risk, contract and financial management, with a focus on accurate, timely reporting
- A solid understanding of planning, environmental and amenity considerations impacting land-based projects
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Confident negotiator, able to engage effectively with landowners, the public, developers, contractors and commercial stakeholders
- Strong digital capability, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint and mapping tools
- Ideally AssocRICS / MRICS (or working towards)
- A competitive salary between £42,000 - £52,000 – dependent on capability.
