Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Warwickshire County Council is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Property Services team. The role involves coordinating and delivering works through the supply chain, ensuring high standards and conformity to specification across a variety of buildings, including offices, accommodation, education sites, fire and rescue stations, libraries, and heritage sites.

As part of a broader engineering and surveyor team, you will:

• Coordinate and deliver mechanical design work for capital and revenue projects for clients both within and external to the Council.
• Manage contractors on site and oversee the production of works specifications to obtain competitive quotations.
• Maintain workloads, deliver works on time and within budgets, and work effectively within a multi‑disciplined team.

• Appropriate HNC or equivalent.
• Experience in Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Good communication and customer liaison skills.
• A successful track record in project management.
• A successful record of managing contractors on site.
• The ability to work within a multi‑disciplined team.
• The ability to produce works specifications to obtain quotation on a competitive basis.
• The proven ability to successfully manage your own workload and deliver works on time and within budgets.

The Fluency Duty for this role is required; you must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
