Become the Technical Expert Behind a Growing Commercial Solar PV Portfolio

Are you the person colleagues turn to when a Solar PV system refuses to behave? Do you enjoy diagnosing complex faults, analysing performance data and finding practical technical solutions?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing renewable energy business for an experienced Solar PV Technical Specialist to join their expanding Operations & Maintenance team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become the technical authority within the business, supporting a nationwide portfolio of commercial Solar PV assets. Working alongside an experienced operations team, you'll solve complex engineering challenges, improve system performance and help shape technical standards as the business continues to grow.

If you're looking for a role where your expertise is genuinely valued and where you'll have the opportunity to influence how technical excellence is delivered across a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

This is a predominantly office-based position where you'll provide technical guidance and support to engineers and operational teams across the UK.

Using SCADA systems, remote monitoring platforms and manufacturer resources, you'll investigate complex faults, analyse system performance and recommend effective repair strategies. You'll also play an important role in commissioning activities, supporting new contract mobilisation and continually improving technical procedures and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical authority for the Solar O&M team.
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance to field engineers across the UK.

  • Develop and maintain technical procedures, standards and fault-finding documentation.
  • Provide technical input into the mobilisation of new Solar O&M contracts.
  • Coach, mentor and share technical knowledge with engineering colleagues.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies, firmware updates and industry best practice.
About You

You’ll have a strong technical background within commercial and industrial Solar PV Operations & Maintenance and enjoy solving challenging engineering problems.

You’ll be methodical, analytical and confident making technical decisions while working collaboratively with engineers, manufacturers and customers.

This role could suit an experienced Solar O&M Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Solar PV Engineer looking to move into a more technical, office-based position where they can use their expertise to support a wider engineering team.
