Our client, 3P Innovation, is a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke automated machinery for the pharmaceutical, medical device and FMCG sectors. Based in Warwick, they design innovative, high-quality automation solutions for customers across the globe and are looking to expand their Controls Engineering team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking business where you'll work on highly customised automation projects using the latest technologies.

The Role  As a Controls Engineer, you'll be involved throughout the complete project lifecycle, from initial concept and customer discussions through to software development, commissioning and customer handover.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll design and develop PLC and HMI software for bespoke automation systems while supporting machine build, testing and installation.
You'll also have the opportunity to work with robotics, machine vision and other advanced automation technologies as projects require.

Key Responsibilities   Design, develop and commission PLC and HMI software for bespoke automated machinery.
Support projects from concept through design, build, FAT, installation and aftermarket support.
Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Project Engineers to deliver complete automation solutions.
Produce technical documentation including Software Design Specifications, Test Records, Software Releases, O&M Manuals and Disaster Recovery documentation.
Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support on-site commissioning and customer validation.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Support customers following installation where required.
About You  You'll be an enthusiastic Controls Engineer who enjoys solving engineering challenges and working on bespoke automation projects.
You'll ideally have experience with:
PLC and HMI programming
Industrial automation and special purpose machinery
Beckhoff and/or Siemens control systems
Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning
Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong communication skills and excellent problem-solving ability
Fluent spoken and written English
Willingness to travel occasionally (typically less than 5%)

Desirable Experience   Object-Oriented Programming
Git version control
Basic electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge
Robotics
Machine Vision
SCADA / MES systems
Pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments
GAMP, GMP, 21 CFR Part 11 or EU Annex 11
Industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, Profinet, CAN, Ethernet/IP and Serial communications
.NET and SQL
