Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

The Senior Portfolio Analyst sits within the Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO), which is responsible for the effective management of NESO’s enterprise-wide portfolio to ensure alignment to strategic objectives and maximise the value derived from portfolio investments in delivering the organisation’s net zero goals.

Reporting to a Portfolio Manager, this role supports the end-to-end management of the Enterprise Portfolio pipeline. The role holder will provide insight, analysis and coordination to enable effective portfolio planning, prioritisation, financial management and decision-making across NESO.

The role is key to ensuring that portfolio demand is effectively captured, assessed and prioritised, and that accurate, timely information is available to support investment decisions and ongoing portfolio management.

The role can be based in Wokingham or Warwick, with hybrid working from both the office and home. Attendance in Warwick or Wokingham offices is required 1 - 2 times a week.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing the portfolio “front door” process, coordinating submissions, ensuring completeness of information and supporting the governance and approvals process.
  • Support the prioritisation and phasing of portfolio activity by providing analysis, data and insights to enable alignment to strategic objectives and investment constraints.
  • Developing and maintaining portfolio plans, ensuring alignment across programmes, projects and key BAU initiatives.
  • Supporting portfolio financial tracking and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely insight on spend, forecasts and financial performance.
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality portfolio data, MI and reporting to provide clear, actionable insight to stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Supporting governance forums and approval processes by preparing high-quality materials, ensuring data accuracy and enabling effective decision-making.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of portfolio pipeline, planning and financial management processes, ensuring efficiency, consistency and best practice.
