Legal Cashier

Location: Warwickshire

My client is recruiting for an experienced Legal Cashier with years experience to join their highly regarded and well established law firm in Newbury, Berkshire. As a Legal Cashier, you will be essential in ensuring all client and firm financial transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules. You’ll work closely with fee earners, support staff, and the finance team to maintain robust accounting controls and deliver a high standard of financial service.

Your main duties will include:
• Processing payments, receipts, and bank transfers
• Performing bank reconciliations and client balance reviews
• Analysing and processing client invoices and disbursements
• Posting client interest and handling card payments
• Reviewing financial files to ensure compliance with accounting regulations
• Managing incoming finance correspondence (post, email, phone)
• Producing periodic reports on financial transactions and compliance
• Supporting residential property-related transactions and general cashiering tasks About You The ideal candidate will be numerate, detail-oriented, and experienced in legal accounting. You’ll bring:
• Experience in legal cashiering or legal accounts
• Strong numerical skills with meticulous accuracy
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills—comfortable liaising with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
• Excellent IT literacy, including MS Office and internet banking
