On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Part Time Financial Controller to join a growing property business based in Bromsgrove, This is a broader Financial Controller opportunity for someone who enjoys developing finance functions, improving processes and using financial information to influence business decisions. Working closely with the Directors, you will take ownership of an established finance function and play a key role in enhancing reporting, strengthening financial controls, improving systems and developing the existing team.
The role would suit a commercially minded, hands-on finance professional who wants to make a tangible impact across the business. Part time hours are flexible, this is a primarily office based role.
Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day finance function, providing direction and support to the team. Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts, board packs and financial reporting. Manage the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes. Review and enhance financial controls, procedures and reporting processes. Oversee service charge accounting, client accounting and associated reconciliations. Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory reporting and relevant regulatory requirements.
Develop meaningful management information to provide greater insight to Directors and clients. Act as a key finance contact for clients, agents and auditors, responding to financial queries and providing appropriate reporting. Partner with the Directors on strategic planning, commercial analysis and key business decisions. Coach, mentor and develop the existing finance team. Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, automate processes and increase overall efficiency.
Ensure appropriate controls are maintained to safeguard both client and company funds. About You Ideally, you will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although experienced qualified-by-experience candidates with a strong property background will also be considered. Previous experience within commercial property, property management, real estate or service charge accounting would be highly advantageous. You will also bring:
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful insight. A practical, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement. Experience developing financial processes, controls and systems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Confidence working closely with Directors, business owners and external clients. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a finance team. A proactive approach and the ability to identify opportunities to improve the wider business.
