Ceremony Usher
Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Service is part of the Resources Group. We conduct around 2,500 ceremonies each year throughout Warwickshire in 90 venues approved by the Council and are recruiting for a Ceremony Usher for our Warwick and Stratford‑upon‑Avon ceremony rooms.
The RoleThe Ceremony Usher will provide a warm and professional meet and greet service for wedding and civil partnership couples and their guests. Successful applicants will be on a zero‑hour contract, working as and when required. The position covers weekday, weekend and public holidays, with greatest demand during the summer months, but we require availability to cover ceremonies throughout the year. There are no guaranteed hours.
KeyRequirements
- Experience working with the public in a customer service environment, committed to delivering a first‑class service.
- Excellent communication skills, able to relate to people in a tactful, understanding, and diplomatic manner.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including flexibility to work at short notice.
- Willingness to wear staff uniform.
- Capability to move, lift and carry chairs as required; suitable training will be provided and relevant training undertaken.
- Fluency Duty: must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
