Falls Specialist Physiotherapist – South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a 12‑month fixed‑term Band 7 physiotherapist to develop and provide outpatient and MDT clinics, and community‑based intervention groups, for falls patients. The service will encompass the current outpatient, acute and MDT clinic offers and enhance the pathway and clinical outcomes for falls patients. The post‑holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of this service, and for leadership and management of any team members.

• Deliver specialist, multi‑factorial assessment and intervention to falls patients, based on best practice and NICE guidance.
• Create an outpatient clinic‑based falls assessment programme and a group intervention service in collaboration with local stakeholders.
• Ensure close links with the community, acute and MSK outpatient teams, and other service providers to create a defined falls assessment and intervention pathway.
• Lead a community‑based exercise and education programme.
• Provide support, clinical supervision and specialist advice to less experienced physiotherapy staff and undergraduate students.
• Work in conjunction with the Pathway lead in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service area on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Work some weekends and bank holidays within Warwick Hospital.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in frailty and falls physiotherapy, with the additional ability to offer vestibular physiotherapy assessment and treatment for this client group, as required.
