The successful candidate(s) will have a dynamic approach to support the Team Leaders in running theatres and facilitating safe, efficient and effective perioperative care.

Skills include excellent communication, self‑initiative, and working effectively within the operative team.

Qualifications

At least 4 years experience as an Anaesthetic Practitioner.

Experience in a range of specialities and ideally out‑of‑hour emergency work.

Ability to work full 24/7 service, including nights, weekends, evenings and on‑call commitment.

Responsibilities

The post holder will manage the operating theatres in the Main or Day Surgery Unit, deploying, delegating, coordinating and supervising all grades of staff in the absence of the Team Leaders to provide a 24‑hour service.

In conjunction with Team Leaders, the post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the department, ensuring staff work within appropriate competencies and providing clinical expertise to the theatre team.

The post holder will deputise for Team Leaders in their absence and create a conducive environment for permanent staff and learners, meeting their learning and development needs.
