We are seeking to appoint a chaplain of any faith tradition, or a person with equivalent skills and experience, to support families of children who are palliative or bereaved, acting as their keyworker when a child dies.
Responsibilities- Support staff caring for very sick and dying children, providing training in bereavement support, compassionate conversations and staff wellbeing.
- Assist staff in identifying spiritual and religious needs.
- Work closely with the community children’s nursing team and acute paediatric nursing team as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with the SWFT chaplaincy team and participate in the delivery of pastoral, spiritual and religious care to all patients, relatives and staff.
- Chaplain or suitably qualified individual with equivalent skills and experience.
- Experience in palliative care settings or with bereaved families is desirable.
- Adept at compassionate communication and training facilitation.
- Commitment to providing spiritual and religious support within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
