Role Description

Role

Title:

HR Trustee
Reports to: Chair of the Board
Term: Typically 3 years, renewable
Location: Warwick
Time Commitment: Approx. 4–6 board meetings per year plus HR‑specific input as needed.

Purpose of the Role: To provide strategic guidance and oversight on all HR matters, ensuring the charity remains compliant, people‑focused, and aligned with best employment practices to support a healthy organisational culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer professional insight on HR strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise the board and the CEO on matters relating to recruitment, retention, performance, and staff wellbeing.
  • Support the CEO and the management team with HR policy compliance, including safeguarding, grievance, and disciplinary processes.
  • Help oversee organisational culture and values in alignment with charity objectives.
  • Contribute to succession planning and trustee/staff development.
Person Specification
  • Significant HR experience, ideally CIPD qualified.
