Job PurposeAt Asset Operations, we believe data is more than just numbers, it's the key to unlocking better performance and delivering meaningful outcomes. As a Insight Lead (Power BI), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we measure, track and improve performance across the business.
Working within an established and forward-thinking team, you'll help design, develop and embed performance metrics, KPIs and reporting solutions that support strategic decision making. Going beyond dashboard creation, you'll work with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define meaningful measures of success and translate complex requirements into data-driven solutions that drive action.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence how performance is understood across Asset Operations, helping teams move beyond reporting what happened to identifying future risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement.
What you ll do- Design, develop and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards and visual reports that enable data-driven decision making.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand performance objectives, reporting requirements and desired outcomes.
- Challenge and refine requirements to ensure the right metrics, KPIs and measures are being developed.
- Partner with Data and Governance teams to ensure reporting solutions are built on trusted, high-quality data.
- Develop and embed performance frameworks that support strategic goals across Asset Operations.
- Analyse trends, patterns and anomalies to identify insights, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate performance reviews and discussions, helping teams understand the story behind the data and identify appropriate actions.
- Translate complex datasets into clear visualisations and practical recommendations that drive performance.
- Manage multiple stakeholder priorities while delivering reporting solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end reporting lifecycle, from requirement gathering and solution design through to development and deployment.
- Explore innovative approaches, including AI-enabled tools and analytics, to enhance insight generation and performance reporting.
You're passionate about using data to solve business problems and have the confidence to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels. Rather than simply taking a requirement and building a report, you're someone who seeks to understand the wider business need, asks the right questions and recommends the most effective solution.
You'll combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, enabling you to turn complex data into meaningful insight that drives action.
You'll also have:
- Experience developing and maintaining high-impact dashboards and visual analytics using Power BI and/or Tableau
. - Strong understanding of data modelling, data visualisation principles and relational databases
. - Experience gathering, interpreting and refining business requirements to develop effective reporting solutions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, risks and opportunities from data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Experience facilitating discussions that help teams understand performance and drive improvement actions.

- Understanding of asset management principles (IAM) and regulatory frameworks.
