Legal Secretary/Paralegal – Private Client Salary : £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience Location :

Full-time We are seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our clients Private Client Department in Malton. This role encompasses a blend of administrative responsibilities, ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating between clients and internal teams. Day-to-day of the role:
Fee-Earning and Casework :
Assist with fee-earning activities under supervision, including estate administration, will drafting, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA). Draft legal documents and correspondence, organise documents, prepare financial records, and assist with the distribution of funds. Support the administration of estates and the preparation of LPA files. Administrative and Support Services :
Provide administrative support including typing, diary management, and general office duties. Manage filing systems, correspondence, and document handling. Client Communication and Representation :
Maintain professional client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and discretion. Respond promptly to client queries and support the processing of client instructions in line with firm procedures. Teamwork and Professional Development :
Actively contribute to the team, organise and prioritise workloads, and engage in ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and skills. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ legal secretarial experience; full training will be provided. Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Partners for Windows) is advantageous. Strong English grammar, spelling, legal terminology familiarity, and numerical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities as required.
