The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Project Manager to join a leading engineering and energy organisation on an initial 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the timely delivery of critical goods and services across a complex, high-value manufacturing environment.
Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will drive supplier performance, mitigate delivery risks, and support operational excellence across the supply chain function.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and improve supplier delivery performance, ensuring critical goods and services are delivered on time and in full.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, influencing stakeholders at all levels to achieve delivery commitments.
- Lead supplier reviews and performance discussions, resolving delivery issues and implementing recovery plans where required.
- Utilise project management and planning tools, including Gantt charts, manufacturing plans, and critical path analysis, to support delivery objectives.
- Expedite and prioritise urgent orders to protect programme schedules and business requirements.
- Monitor supplier KPIs and implement targeted improvement initiatives to address underperformance.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve supply chain challenges and remove delivery bottlenecks.
- Conduct root cause analysis of delivery failures and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Identify supply chain risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
- Proven experience within Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Operations Management in a complex engineering or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing supplier performance and driving measurable improvements.
- Experience working within industries such as aerospace, energy, defence, automotive, heavy engineering, or other high‑value manufacturing sectors.
- Strong project management and planning capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence both suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast‑paced, delivery‑focused environment.
- Experience using ERP systems and supply chain performance reporting tools is advantageous.
- Initial 12-month contract.
- Competitive daily rate of £350-£400 per day.
