We are recruiting a Ward Manager for our Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Ward (Feldon ward). The role requires an experienced clinical professional nurse, confident in leading teams, with at least three years of post-registration experience.

• Provide strong visible leadership to all staff within a 21-bed Neurorehabilitation ward, ensuring up-to-date evidence-based practice and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and support ward staff through training, appraisal, and performance management in line with Trust policies.
• Ensure all nursing staff maintain valid NMC registration and practice according to NMC guidelines.
• Lead the implementation of quality and performance initiatives, including patient safety and infection prevention & control.
• Collaborate with NHS England, the Central England Trauma Network, and Patient Flow Team to facilitate seamless patient pathways.
• Assist in the strategy, finance, and service development of the ward, including resource allocation, budget control, and service improvement projects.
• Recruit, select, and manage ward staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing absence, and maintaining compliance with Trust policies.
• Monitor ward performance against organisational objectives, identifying cost pressures and proposing service developments.
• Maintain robust systems for checking professional registration, reporting and reviewing incidents, complaints, and near-misses.
• Provide leadership for information management, analysis of utilisation data, and communication of performance and service changes.

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or HCPC registered therapist.
• Degree in Nursing or Therapy (O.T., Physiotherapy, SALT, Dietetics) or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Post-graduate qualification in Neurology, Trauma, or rehabilitation.
• Teaching/mentoring or equivalent qualification.
• ILS/ALS training.

• Line‑management experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working at Band 6 NHS level.
• Experience in change management.
• Experience working in a rehabilitation setting.
• Experience in project work and report writing.
