This is a critical leadership role accountable for ensuring that all change initiatives across Asset Management are aligned to strategic priorities, effectively governed, and deliver measurable outcomes. You will provide enterprise-level visibility of the portfolio, ensuring clear prioritisation, sequencing, and delivery across a complex landscape of programmes and projects.

Working at the centre of Asset Management within Asset Operations and wider business functions, you will drive the portfolio forward through influence, insight, and leadership-enabling effective decision-making, resolving complex challenges, and ensuring delivery at pace across a highly regulated environment.

What you’ll do
  • Own and lead the Asset Management change and transformation portfolio, providing clear strategic direction and oversight
  • Define and drive portfolio prioritisation, sequencing, and alignment, balancing capacity, dependencies, risk, and outcomes
  • Establish and chair governance forums, ensuring robust decision-making, transparency, and effective escalation into wider AO governance
  • Provide clear executive-level insight into portfolio performance, translating complex data into actionable intelligence and recommendations
  • Drive delivery across the portfolio, proactively identifying risks and issues, unblocking challenges, and holding programme and project leads to account
  • Ensure alignment with wider Asset Operations and enterprise change initiatives, maintaining line of sight across all transformation activity
  • Lead portfolio-level financial stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and benefits realisation
  • Oversee investment governance processes, including business case development, approvals, and performance tracking
  • Partner with Finance, Regulation, Engineering, Operations, Digital, and Change teams to ensure joined-up delivery
  • Act as a key interface between delivery teams and senior leadership, enabling effective and timely decision-making
  • Embed strong governance frameworks, policies, and controls across the portfolio
  • Champion a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement across Asset Management
About you
  • Senior leadership experience in change and transformation, with a proven track record of owning and delivering complex portfolios of programmes and projects
  • Deep expertise in portfolio, programme, and project management, including governance, risk, cost, and performance management
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience overseeing budgets, forecasts, and investment decision-making at portfolio level
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex information, identify key issues, and translate into clear, executive-level insights and recommendations
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver through others in a matrix environment
  • Experience operating in complex, regulated environments (utilities, infrastructure, or similar preferred but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of change methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and governance frameworks
  • Strategic, structured thinker with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset and the energy to drive outcomes at pace
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams while holding others accountable for delivery
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, IAM) and/or membership of relevant professional bodies desirable
What you’ll get

A competitive salary between £90,000 £ 100,000 - dependent on capability

As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 40% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
