HSE Manager
A high volume manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their department with the appointment of a HSE Manager.
As HSE Manager, you will oversee the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies within the company. Develop strategies to promote a safety culture, reduce occupational risks, and ensure regulatory compliance. Identify risk areas, assess incidents, and propose corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Responsibilities- Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments and actions for all work equipment and operations, ensure actions are completed, and utilise on-site trained personnel to carry out risk assessments.
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Co‑ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
- Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
- Establish and deliver a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the company.
- Advise on suitable PPE and give or obtain relevant training/instruction on use.
- Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
- Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
- Lead the monthly HSE meetings and report on relevant health & safety matters. Liaise with suppliers such as insurers and solicitors.
- Provision of advice to managers and supervisors.
- Review H&S investigations and provide guidance as necessary.
- Experience in formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures.
- Monitor and review with relevant stakeholders company processes to ensure that they conform to total quality standards and that there is a process of continuous improvement.
- Experience of at least 3 years in a similar role.
- NEBOSH qualified.
