We are looking for an experienced and motivated Leasehold Team Leader to lead the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused leasehold and shared ownership service within our Housing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist team responsible for delivering comprehensive pre- and post-sales services, managing service charges, supporting statutory compliance, and providing expert advice to leaseholders and shared owners.

As the operational lead for the service, you will ensure legal compliance, financial accuracy and excellent customer service across a growing leasehold portfolio. You will play a key role in driving service improvement, developing processes, and ensuring customers receive a transparent, responsive and professional service.

We are looking for an experienced housing professional with strong knowledge of leasehold legislation, service charges and shared ownership. You will be an effective leader with the ability to motivate and develop staff, manage complex casework, and work collaboratively with colleagues across Housing, Legal Services and Finance to deliver excellent outcomes for residents.

• Provide operational leadership for the Council’s Leasehold and Shared Ownership Service, ensuring a high-quality, compliant and customer-focused service. Lead, manage and develop the Leasehold Team to deliver excellent performance, continuous improvement and outstanding customer service. Oversee the administration of leasehold services, including staircasing, resales, buy-backs, assignments and post-sale enquiries. Ensure service charges are accurate, transparent and compliant with lease agreements and relevant legislation, supporting full cost recovery where appropriate.
  
  Provide expert advice on leasehold legislation, service charges and shared ownership, ensuring compliance with the Common hold and Leasehold Reform Act, Landlord and Tenant legislation and other relevant regulations. Work collaboratively with Legal Services, Finance, contractors and managing agents to protect the Council’s interests and deliver value for money. Support the resolution of complex complaints, disputes and tribunal or court proceedings where required.
  
  Use performance data, customer feedback and legislative changes to drive continuous service improvement and enhance the customer experience.
