Financial Controller | Warwickshire | £70,000 - £80,000

SF Partners is working with an established manufacturing business in Warwickshire to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a senior, hands-on finance role with responsibility for leading the local finance team as well as overseeing finance teams across a small number of international locations.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day financial control environment, ensuring the business has robust processes, accurate reporting and strong controls across its operations.

It's a broad Financial Controller position, so alongside leading and developing the team, you'll retain oversight of the detail - from month-end and balance sheet reconciliations through to banking, payments, cash management and year-end requirements.

Given the nature of the business, we're looking for someone who has worked within a manufacturing, distribution or other stock-based environment and understands the financial controls required around inventory.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading and developing the finance team in Warwickshire
Providing oversight and direction to finance teams in international locations
Taking ownership of the month-end close and financial control environment
Reviewing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
Maintaining robust controls around stock and inventory
Overseeing banking, payments, cash management and reconciliations
Supporting cash flow reporting and forecasting
Managing year-end requirements and working with external auditors
Reviewing existing finance processes and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve efficiency
Working closely with operational and supply chain teams across the business
Supporting the Finance Director with wider projects and ongoing development of the finance function

About you:

You'll be an experienced Financial Controller, Head of Finance or equivalent who is comfortable combining team leadership with a hands-on approach.

You'll ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified and will have experience working within manufacturing, distribution, engineering or another stock-led environment.

Previous team management experience is important, alongside strong technical accounting, controls and balance sheet knowledge. Experience overseeing teams or finance activities internationally would be particularly useful.

This would suit someone who enjoys getting underneath the numbers, improving processes and controls, and developing a finance team rather than operating purely at a high-level strategic level.

Please note:

this position is based on-site in Warwickshire five days per week.
