Protec is continuing to grow and as a result we are looking to appoint a Production Planner / MP&L Coordinator to bring structure, organisation and control into a fast paced manufacturing environment.
This is not a maintenance planning role. We need someone who can take ownership of planning, materials and system processes, challenge where needed and help drive operational efficiency across the business.
You will play a key role in moving the business from spreadsheet based planning into a fully integrated ERP environment using Redthorn ERP.
The Role Production Planning & Scheduling- Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules
- Sequence work orders across fabrication, machining and assembly
- Manage capacity planning and highlight bottlenecks
- Work closely with production to ensure achievable plans
- Control material call offs in line with production demand
- Monitor supplier lead times and inbound deliveries
- Maintain stock accuracy and support inventory control
- Coordinate dispatch and outbound logistics
- Support migration from Excel planning into Redthorn ERP
- Cleanse and structure data including BOMs and routings
- Help build system processes and reporting functionality
- Drive adoption of ERP across production and operations
- Identify inefficiencies in planning and workflow
- Implement structure and planning discipline
- Challenge production where schedules are not followed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys bringing order to chaos.
You will likely come from a manufacturing or engineering background and have experience within a planning, MP&L or supply chain function.
Key Experience Required- Production planning or MP&L experience within manufacturing
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage complex schedules
- Exposure to MRP or ERP systems
- Understanding of BOMs, routings and capacity planning
- Confident communicating with production teams
- Highly organised and detail driven
- Assertive and confident challenging where needed
- Process focused with a continuous improvement mindset
- Able to work on site full time and embed within operations
- Growing engineering business with strong order book
