This is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Assembly Team Leader to join an independent electrical engineering group that delivers design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and service solutions across a wide range of industrial and commercial sectors.

You will be joining a growing business unit specialising in the design and manufacture of advanced electronic equipment used to protect critical motors and generators. Their innovative technology enables customers to detect electrical faults before catastrophic failures occur. With increasing market demand, a successful new product launch and continued business growth, now is an exciting time to join the team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining electronics assembly, testing and fault finding with responsibility for leading a small production team. You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering and R&D to improve manufacturing performance, reduce lead times and support the continued growth of the business.

Electronics Assembly Team Leader
- The Role:
  • Lead and supervise the electronics assembly team, promoting a strong safety-first culture.
  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production workloads to meet delivery schedules.
  • Support hands-on assembly, testing, fault finding and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvements in quality, productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Help reduce manufacturing lead times and support the transition from build-to-order production towards holding finished products in stock.
  • Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards and delivery targets.
  • Provide technical support, coaching and development for assembly team members.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to coordinate production activities.
  • Manage stock control, Kanban systems and materials availability.
  • Oversee quality documentation, product traceability and non-conformance investigations.
  • Support software installation, configuration and basic troubleshooting of condition monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to improve products and update technical documentation.
  • Monitor team performance and support KPI achievement.
Electronics Assembly Team Leader
- What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience within an electronics manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience within a production or engineering setting.
  • Strong hands-on electronics knowledge with fault-finding capability.
  • Experience assembling and testing PCB-based electronic products and electronic equipment.
  • Experience working within an ESD-controlled (Electrostatic Discharge) manufacturing environment.
  • Experience planning workloads and coordinating manufacturing activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years' experience within a similar engineering or manufacturing environment
