Job Purpose
The Category Manager position is responsable of driving accelerated, profitable, and sustainable demand growth for PHINIA EMEA aftermarket products and solutions by delivering the right products, with the right messaging, at the right price, at the right time, through the right channels
Key Responsibilities Market Analysis- Lead & co-ordinate market & competitor research to identify trends, opportunities & risks, and put in place appropriate strategies & tactics to address these
- Use EMEA-level internal & external data to drive decision-making & optimize product focus
- Define market penetration strategies to enhance customer adoption
- Act as product experts, ensuring deep knowledge of product features, benefits & applications
- Develop & execute customer-centric GTM strategies for the product line(s) of responsibility
- Lead development of segmentation, targeting & positioning framework for the products
- Own the product range policy for New-To-Range (NTR) and phase-outs
- Optimize product range & SKU performance to align with market needs
- Lead successful product launches & post-launch performance tracking & actions
- Develop, & support execution of, plans to support product phase-out inventory reduction / disposal in collaboration with other functions
- Identify & capitalize on new product/segment/channel opportunities
- Deliver additional technical & workshop solutions to support product success in the market
- Lead development of compelling, fact-based product messaging
- Own product-centric content creation & marketing plans in collaboration with regional teams
- Ensure product line(s) information and data is complete & updated (catalogue, specs, training)
- Be the product Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting training for internal teams & customers
- Implement strategies & tactics to drive revenue, profitability, and market expansion
- Analyze sales performance & pricing to ensure market competitiveness
- Track NTR & product success to refine future launches
- Identify & lead CI opportunities for marketing for EMEA
- Qualification in Marketing and/or Business (minimum degree-level)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a marketing role (category marketing / product marketing / trade marketing), preferably in the Automotive Industry
- Previous exposure to, and understanding of, the usage of key economic indicators, financial drivers & business metrics to generate strategies and produce positive results
- Experience of working in a marketing environment in a multi-country role with a strong focus on customer interaction and engagement
- Demonstrable experience and capability in turning trends, data and insights into marketing strategies, tactics and creative messaging to address market and customer needs
- Have keen problem-solving skills and a willingness to take on complex challenges, and see through to resolution – never give up!
- Excellent communication skills – able to effectively convey a vision, and build strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Team player –with a can do attitude and sense of humor
- Accurate with meticulous attention to detail
- Fluent in English; 2nd language a benefit
