About Us

Warwickshire County Council’s Children with Disabilities Team is looking for Family Support Workers to join our Review Hub on a permanent basis. This team works across the county to support disabled children, young people and their families with restorative, strengths-based practice.

The Role

Working within the Children with Disabilities Review Hub, you will support children and young people with disabilities and their families by reviewing support arrangements, identifying strengths and ensuring services continue to meet assessed needs and promote positive outcomes.

The team operates county-wide, with bases in the north and south of Warwickshire. Successful candidates will be expected to travel across the county as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people receiving support packages.
  • Review support packages and collaborate with families, providers and partner agencies to keep them effective and outcome-focused.
  • Coordinate and chair multi-agency review meetings.
  • Visit children and families to review progress and assess ongoing needs.
  • Provide advice, guidance, signposting and practical support to parents and carers.
  • Undertake carer assessments where appropriate.
  • Work with Social Workers and support duty functions within the team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Promote the voice of the child and support families to achieve greater independence and resilience.
About You
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with disabilities.
  • Experience working with children, young people and families.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and engage effectively with a range of professionals and agencies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and recording skills.
  • Understanding of strengths-based and outcome-focused practice.
  • Capacity to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
  • Full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for business use.
Additional Information

Successful applicants will be subject to pre-engagement checks, including a DBS check. Fluency in English is required; you must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
