Bank Driver

£12.84 Per Hour

Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving licence with a C1 entitlement that allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.

• A full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement, allowing you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes GVW.
• Basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation.
• Holding a driver digital tachograph card is ideal.
• Comfortable with manual handling – able to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250 kg.
• Excellent communication skills – acting as our unit’s ambassador and first point of contact for customers.

• Collect and make deliveries by van or car to customers, driving 5.2T vehicles.
• Receive and check deliveries of medical devices from customers.
• Help keep equipment in good working order and report any faults.
• Keep a clean, tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation.
• Be flexible with your working hours – shifts operate between 4 am and 10 pm, Monday to Friday with varying times on Saturdays.
