Overview

Located in the heart of Washington Court House, Cedarvale Commons Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is a leading skilled nursing facility that provides compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. We are dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone. We are currently seeking a Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious and delicious meals to our residents.

Position Overview

As a Cook at Cedarvale Commons, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while ensuring that all food is of the highest quality. You will work closely with the dietary team to follow menu guidelines and prepare meals in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook nutritious and appetizing meals according to the facility's menu and resident dietary needs.
  • Ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner, following proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with meal planning and portion control to ensure nutritional balance.
  • Work with the dietary team to accommodate resident dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including proper handling of food equipment and utensils.
  • Follow proper storage procedures for food items and ensure all food is kept at the correct temperatures.
  • Assist with food inventory management, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including sanitation standards and food handling procedures.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare, institutional, or restaurant setting is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and cook large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, resident-focused attitude with a commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
