ResponsibilitiesThe main job purpose as a Retail Home Consultant with Clayton will be to create a world-class home buying experience by assisting customers to identify a floor plan, select options, and coordinate the construction process.
- Assist customers in selecting floor plans, options, and coordinating construction.
- Present potential buyers with display homes, demonstrate features, and create added value.
- Account for the Clayton branding in all sales processes.
- Maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up with prospective buyers via the company’s CRM system.
- Help select inventory, decorate models, and maintain the appearance of homes.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home center traffic.
- Schedule and conduct home center visits, convert ad calls and web leads to appointments.
- Participate in all sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and assist with miscellaneous duties as required.
- Clayton Ambassador – protect the Clayton branding and assets by maintaining a high level of integrity throughout the sales process.
- Constant Learner – develop expertise in finance, mortgage concepts, product, sales acumen, sales presentation skills, and your local market.
- Customer Follow‑up – maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up through the CRM system.
- Merchandising – assist manager in selecting inventory, decorating models, and maintaining appearance.
- Personal Prospecting – develop, refine, and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan.
- Product Demonstration – present potential buyers with display homes and demonstrate features.
- Set Appointments – set home center visits utilizing prospect database and converting ad calls.
- Training – participate in all sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.
- Team‑Oriented – cooperative and collaborative, willing and eager to work in a team environment.
- At least 6 months of relationship‑driven business-to-consumer sales experience preferred.
- General understanding of the retail environment.
- Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured home sales licensing.
- Ability to learn and comply with legal requirements that apply to the sale of manufactured homes.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to excel and contribute to a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work required schedule, including Saturdays.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
- Ability to move and lift furniture, promotional items, etc. (up to 75 lbs.).
- Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.
- Base salary of $50,000 plus a lucrative commission plan.
