Overview
MTrec’s new career opportunity. Our client are leaders in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis. The role will be working a 3 shift system (6-2, 2-10, 10-6).
The Job you’ll do- Diagnosis and repair of special purpose equipment and make sure it works correctly.
- Formulation and execution of effective (value-added) planned maintenance (PM) to prevent disruption of activities.
- Prioritisation, validation, and completion of maintenance requests.
- Control of Inventory using engineering database.
- Pilot key equipment using maintenance KPIs to formulate and execute improvement action plans.
- Mentor and support to maintenance apprentices.
- Capture of comprehensive maintenance data for equipment history and ‘lessons learnt’ purposes.
- PLC fault finding using PLCs for remedial actions and process improvements.
- Coordinate with maintenance engineering department for external modifications and future installations.
- Support improvements identified through the Red Tag and 6S process.
- Shift handovers must be completed.
- Support a culture of change and improvement within the engineering department.
- Must have served a recognised Apprenticeship and be educated to HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3 years post Apprenticeship experience with strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Must be able to read Mechanical and Electrical drawings for fault-finding purposes.
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Basic fabrication skills are advantageous.
- The use of testing equipment.
- Knowledge PLCs ladder logic and structured text.
- Good IT skills using Microsoft packages Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience of the following is essential: PLC, Siemens S7 Advantageous.
- Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance and fault-finding skills.
- Very strong with electrical fault-finding using HMI fault codes.
- Root cause analysis.
- 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Be flexible to work 3 shifts including nights, as well as overtime when required.
