The General Accountant at Seabrook plays a pivotal role in the accounting operations of the company. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position entails maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating payments to vendors, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures. The General Accountant will collaborate with various departments to support financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and supporting the financial reporting process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
  • Perform day‑to‑day accounting activities, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports to provide insights into business performance.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Assists with posting transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities and expenses).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or relative experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Quick Books and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Maintain and improve data integration between financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting principles.
  • CPA certification or CPA eligibility desired.
  • All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk moderate distances.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Salary:

$65,000-$100,000 (Exemption status will be determined in accordance with Washington State overtime and salary threshold laws; employees must meet the applicable state salary threshold and duties tests to be classified as exempt.)
