Construction Project Manager

Hermanson Company, a Mechanical Construction firm headquartered in the Puget Sound area since 1979, is now hiring a Project Manager for its Owner Direct Solutions team in Kent, WA. The role focuses on coordinating in‑house and subcontractor work across multiple trades such as electrical, insulation, controls, and structural.

Annual Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $140,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

• Promote teamwork and a positive winning attitude through leadership.
• Responsible for employee training and development.
• Establish and maintain a trusting relationship with project foremen, superintendents, customers, engineers, generals, and subcontractors.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Hermanson Company standards.
• Forecast anticipated workload for a rolling 12‑month period every month.
• Provide management on multiple projects and project teams.
• Direct day‑to‑day activities of project teams to ensure each project meets required standards.
• Assist Estimating to ensure successful project turnover and pre‑planning meetings are completed before any union labor or project start.
• Assist Engineering with equipment/product selection and ensure all deliverable dates are met.
• Work with Labor Operations to create a leveled staff‑loaded project schedule and influence adjustments to the GC schedule to level peak staffing.
• Monitor the foreman’s updated monthly staffing plan, verify productivity versus estimates, and initiate corrective actions if needed.
• When productivity concerns become unfixable, advise the supervisor and General Superintendent for intervention.
• Make the final selection on all equipment and subcontractors, ensuring purchase orders and subcontracts adhere to company standards.
• Verify receipt of billing for equipment and subcontractor invoices before approving payment.
• Calculate and submit change orders within contract notice requirements; update project budgets and logs as approved.
• Complete the Hermanson monthly STAT/Financial Report and cost forecasting.

• 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction.
• Prior HVAC and/or Mechanical construction experience is required.
• Strong communication and management skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines and projects, and a genuine commitment to superior customer experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience (preferred).
