Construction Laborer

Job Description

Overview

Construction laborer will be responsible for completing assigned tasks at construction sites given by the general contractor or lead foreman; this includes, but is not limited to: site prep and clean-up, loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment, assisting with structural framing, systems installation, finishing work, and more. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and be on their feet and moving for extended periods of time.

Applicant must be able to work efficiently and well with others. Prior construction experience is preferred, but not required. Pay will be at a rate of $18-$23 per hour depending on applicant’s prior experience and skill level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including site cleanup and material organization
• Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery to support various tasks
• Follow project schematics, technical drawings and verbal directions of project specifications accurately
• Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe environment for all team members

Qualifications

• Prior experience working on construction projects or in a related trade setting is highly preferred
• Have the ability to follow directions given by leadership and work well with others
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, specialized equipment and cutting tools greatly preferred
• Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics effectively
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices for heavy lifting and hazardous materials handling
• Must have valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and the ability to arrive at various job sites on time, often starting around 7:00 AM
• Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
