Sr. Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing organization in the renewable energy sector. This newly created role offers the opportunity to help establish the new project accounting function, establish core reporting infrastructure, and partner closely with finance and project leadership during an exciting period of growth. This is a high-impact position for a Senior Accountant who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and supporting a business as it scales.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in standing up accounting operations locally, enhancing financial reporting, and supporting development activity across a portfolio of sustainable energy projects.

Key Duties:

• Oversee day to day accounting operations and project accounting for their new state of the art renewable energy project
• Responsible for project level ledger activity, revenue and cost accounting as well as hours tracking utilizing Sage Intacct
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, project costing and general ledger activities as it relates to the project
• Work closely with the corporate level accounting team regarding overall financial and revenue reporting
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting including intercompany accounting
• Help to transition accounting processes from the parent organization and identify opportunities for continued improvement
• Assist external relationships with audit and tax providers
• Help implement and optimize accounting systems and workflows, including Sage Intacct
• File federal, state and local reports as necessary relating to the project
• Assist with working with outside firms covering audit and outsourced tax
• Support the project finance team regarding budgets, financial models and reporting
