Who YOU AreYou’re a skilled and safety‑conscious Procurement Manager with expertise in managing and maintaining relationships with suppliers. You work across all industries with management closely to ensure the right suppliers are utilized. You overcome obstacles that may affect productivity and continue communication with leadership for efficient flow of goods and services. You bring dedication, problem‑solving skills, and a proactive approach to every task.
WhatYou WILL DO
- Develop sound, cost‑effective strategies for purchasing materials.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
- Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of purchased products and timeliness of deliveries.
- Communicate with management regularly regarding efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
- Conduct cost analysis and set benchmarks for improvement.
- Develop risk‑management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
- Supervise a purchasing team and delegate tasks across departments when necessary. Order spare parts and supplies according to customer requirements.
- Keep a current spreadsheet of spare parts costs reflecting quarterly historical information for reporting/research purposes. The sheet must cross‑reference all projects requiring repair or replacement.
- Supervise buyer assistants whose duties include obtaining quotes and parts from the local market, obtaining prior approval for local procurement from sponsor representative, and making purchases.
- Review and approve purchase orders for legitimacy, price, quality, delivery and service.
- Meet critical timelines to deliver sustainment support and emergency no‑notice requirements while avoiding or preventing operational delays or work stoppage.
- Determine the best value and most expedient logistics routes and vendors to ensure consistent customer support.
- Provide oversight of procurement and receiving activities, shipment preparation, routing, logistics and inventory of goods.
- Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations related to the transport of goods.
- Interact with local logistics providers and reach back to CONUS for support on significant issues.
This is a contingent position based upon contract award and will be located OCONUS.
Requirements- Requires a SECRET clearance with the ability to be upgraded to TS/SCI with Poly level clearance.
- Three (3)+ years of experience working with the following types of tasking requirements: performing research on required spare parts, verifying part quotes, working with suppliers directly and through other countries, working with buyer assistants and/or local market purchases.
