Overview

The GST Federal Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business and expanding GST's business within the federal sector. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, requiring someone who can identify opportunities, engage with federal clients, and close deals. The ideal candidate has experience selling into the federal government, understands the procurement landscape, and is highly self-motivated and proactive. This role is critical to support GST's growth strategy in the federal market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to target federal agencies and meet assigned revenue and margin goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the federal market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in federal agencies, contractors, and partners.
  • Manage a portfolio of federal clients, dealers, distributors, and OEM accounts, ensuring strong communication and alignment.
  • Own the full sales cycle— from prospecting and proposal development to negotiation and contract closure.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align product and service offerings with customer needs.
  • Submit accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Stay up to date on federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and market trends.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in federal business development, account management, or sales.
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, contracts, and key agency dynamics.
  • Proven ability to generate leads, close business, and meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Experience working with government contractors, OEMs, or value-added resellers (VARs) is a plus.
